MyConfectionary is a postcard or internet scrapbook construction environment. Users can combine photos, videos, audio and text in story panel — sequencing and sharing them with anyone on the web. The environment is being developed by StoryNetworks, LLC, and is based on a prototype developed by Aisling Kelliher in the Media Fabrics group at the MIT Media Lab (2004-2007). Upstatement was selected to implement a new version of the environment on a tight deadline for a conference held at the MIT Media Lab in June 2008.
Working closely with the client's team, Upstatement implemented a new easy-to-use Flash interface where users can select and arrange media in the construction window. For media upload, storage and organization, MIT chose Plum.com, whose API allowed for a seamless integration between media management and story construction.
