The Holocaust Museum recently launched "From Memory to Action," a new exhibit that raises awareness about genocide occurring in the world today. Central to that goal is extending the experience beyond the Museum, encouraging users to act after they leave the exhibit. Upstatement created a web space that works hand-in-hand with the physical space in Washington, D.C., making it easy for visitors to share what the saw with family and friends.
We worked with partners at Small Design Firm, Potion Design and C&G Partners to bring it all to life.
Interactive Pledge Wall
A key feature is the Pledge Wall. At the end of the museum exhibit, visitors are asked, "What will you do to end the threat of genocide today?" They write an answer on the card and drop it in a box. At home, they can log on and see their pledge -- in their own handwriting -- amongst thousands of others. Pledge card after pledge card drifts and falls to the ground, creating a poignant visual illustration of the all the people who have promised to help end genocide.
