Be The Change

Facing History & Ourselves

November 2009  |  btc.facinghistory.org

Previously, the old site was so complicated it had a "How to use this site" link at the top of every page. Facing History's Be The Change program requires students watch videos and write short essays about what they learn. We simplified the site to match the layout to the program. The site helps students along by showing them what videos they still need to watch in order to complete the course.

Because of the site's awkward construction, Facing History staff had to contact an outside developer every time they wanted to make an update. Our simplified design allowed them to move the site to an easy-to-manage CMS implemented by the Drupal experts at Digital Loom in Cambridge, MA.

Profile pages

Each profiled humanitarian has their own page with videos and facts about their achievements. We created a unique background to give each profile a unique look. A mix of hand-drawn type and organic images accomplishes the aesthetic the client sought.
